” Come, let us return to the LORD.
He has torn us to pieces
but he will heal us;
he has injured us
but he will bind up our wounds.
After two days he will revive us;
on the third day he will restore us,
that we may live in his presence.
Let us acknowledge the LORD;
let us press on to acknowledge him.
As surely as the sun rises, he will appear;
he will come to us like the winter rains,
like the spring rains that water the earth.”
I realize more and more that any hope, any promise or any future is truly substantiated and is only able to be validated because of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. How could Hosea ever say these words except in the hope of a Father who would bind, heal and restore His own Son? And Christ could only be the fulfillment of everything said of Him in scripture through the resurrection. What the Husbandman does for the Vine, the Vine then does for the branches (John 15). He tears us to heal us; injures us to bind us closer to Himself and not the things of this world. He revives us to REAL life in Him. He restores us that we may live more fully in Him until the time comes that we will spend eternity with Him.
“As surely as the sun rises, he will appear…” We don’t ever think the sun will not rise, if we really thought about it. We easily take for granted the promise the Lord constantly speaks into our lives with each new day and dawning of the sun. He will appear, whatever our circumstances…whatever our wait, whatever our hope, whatever our confusion. He has given us the sunrise as an eternal promise of His faithfulness. As surely as He rose from the grave and as surely as the sun rises, He will appear. Thank you for the Resurrection that continually speaks~
